My sweet boy died in my arms on June 3, 2021. His veterinarian didn't find anything wrong other than a high white blood cell count.  He was at least 7 years old, which is old for a beardie.  He was loved by many after spending 6 years sharing classrooms with many fifth graders. I miss him terribly. I'll always remember his sweet personality.

Meet Piper the Bearded Dragon

Piper is an awesome classroom pet. He loves to be handled gently and eats food right out of his favorite kids' hands.

Things to know about Piper...

•Bred in captivity at Northside High School by Mary Ramsey, a science teacher and animal rescue enthusiast.

•Adopted by Dr. Lester in May 2015– after Piper spent a year with a student from Northside High School in Columbus, Georgia.

•Favorite foods are cresson, dandelion greens and blue berries.  Crickets and meal worms are yummy occasional snacks.
