Planning an original

Choose Your Own Adventure

DAY 1

1. Divide into author teams.

      Discuss "Who are we?"

" Where are we in time and place?

"What central problem will drive the story?"

Each group will discuss and answer the first three questions.  Then, they will come up with a "presentation" of ideas for where the group thinks the story may go. This is meant to "sell" the Character/Setting/ Plot idea to the the class.

2.  Each group creates a title for their story idea and talks to the group about possible ideas.  THEN the class votes on the ONE IDEA that will drive the entire class story.

DAY 2

1. Reveal the big winner of the vote!!!!  Now, explore how the class might divide up the story line.  Make this a class discussion, as students explore plot construction, character development and scene transitions.  A story board will be helpful as students try to MAP the BIG PICTURE.

DAYS 3 & 4

DAYS 4 & 5
