It would always be ready
In the blink of an eye
The sauce was steady.
The heat of the oven
The mittens on the floor
The sauce on the table
The purse on the door.
The family at the table
A grand ol’ time.
Smiles they held
Rehearsing every line.
Mama’s spaghetti
It would always be ready
In the blink of an eye
Holding in every lie.
