GET YOUR CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING:

1. Think about a polyhedron or  a three-dimensional shape with flat polygonal faces, straight edges and sharp corners or vertices.   Now, use a polyhedron to create an original character, just like the Dodecahedron from Juster's novel.  Give your new character personality and purpose. Draw a picture of your polyhedron character and write a short character profile.

Please explain your answers to the following questions.

2. Milo’s appearance baffled the Dodecahedron.  “How terribly confusing,” the Dodecahedron said.  What was it that confused the Dodecahedron?  Explain.

3.The Dodecahedron brought Milo and company to the mine (cave) where the Mathemagician resided.  ON page 179, Milo asked if there were any precious stones in the mine.  What was the Mathemagician’s response?  Explain what you might do with the piles he showed Milo.
