Greek and Latin Root Words

Greek and Latin words form the root of several words in the English Language. English became a combination of Greek, Latin, French and most every other classic or romance as people from many different cultures migrated to English-speaking communities. This makes some words difficult to define, even with the best context clues. Understanding the root of as many words as possible will help readers decipher complex unfamiliar words.  If the root is understood, adding a suffix or prefix to that root won't deter comprehension.
