Hello Readers,

Okay, I must confess – I am a total dog person who LOVED this book!!! A Dog Like Daisy by Kristin Tubb is filled with cinnamon and yellow sunshine, mixed with moments of gray rain as only a dog could explain. Daisy was rescued from an animal shelter by a man suffering from PTSD. He and his family are in need of healing in many ways.  Daisy spends several months training to be a service dog as she comments on confusing human behavior.  “How do they possibly survive thinking so often with their brains and so rarely with their hearts?”

I’ll be honest, when I started the first chapter I was pretty sure experiencing the story from a dog’s perspective and hearing only her voice was going to be very cheesy but I was pleasantly charmed by Daisy and her view of humanity. Colorful feelings and reflections take the reader on a powerful journey of healing and heartfelt family growth. A sweet surprise twist at the end brought a freshness to the story that expressed the real despair of a man who gave so much in service of our country. This book is going on my shelf of favorites to share with all my kids at school.

I’d like to read your opinions of this book, even if you don’t agree with my review. Please send me your typed review. I’ll post your thoughts with others as we encourage friends to read a great book.

Enjoy a thoughtful view of recovery through the eyes of the most sympathetic voice.
