Chapter 3 and 4 Comprehension Questions:

1. How does Bud feel about being locked in the shed ?  Provide evidence from the text to support your answer.

2. Why does Bud attack the hornet nest? How does the nest impact his next move? 

3. Why does Bud sneak into the Amos house? Think deeply. What does this say about Bud's character?

4. Why does Bud want to get the gun out of the house before he takes his revenge?

5. What did you expect Bud to do as a means of revenge against Todd and his parents?  How does Bud take revenge on Todd? What does this say about Bud as a person? If your answer differs from what actually happened, what does this say about our expectations as readers?

6. How do you think Bud feels as he leaves the Amos house with his suitcase?  Provide evidence from the text to support your answer if possible.

7. In Chapter 4, Bud plots revenge on Todd. Have you ever plotted revenge on someone? If so, what did you do? If not, think of another way that Bud could have gotten revenge on Todd.
