  1. Characteristics

Feature or quality belonging typically to a person, place, or thing and serving to identify it.

 

2. Vertebrate

An animal of a large group that has a backbone, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fishes.

 

3. Invertebrate

any animal that lacks a backbone

4. Fish

A cold-blooded vertebrate animal with no legs but it has gills and fins and live ONLY in water

5. Amphibian

A cold- blooded animal that lives the first part of their lives in the water and the last part on the land. When they hatch from their eggs, amphibians have gills so they can breathe in the water

6.  Reptile 

A cold-blooded animals with a dry scaly skin and typically laying soft-shelled eggs on land. Includes snakes, lizards, crocodiles, turtles, and tortoises

7. Bird

a warm-blooded egg-laying vertebrate.Usually has feathers, wings, and a beak

8. Mammal

A warm-blooded vertebrate animal that has hair or fur, females produce milk and usually give birth to live young- no eggs.

9.  Vascular

When talking about PLANTS, this type has a plant tissue which moves water, sap, and nutrients in flowering plants, and ferns.

10. Nonvascular

These PLANTS have no roots, stems, or leaves. Algae and moss are examples of this type of plant.
